2026 Student Art Exhibition: Blueprints of Culture
Louisiana students grades 6-12 invited to submit original artwork inspired by state architecture and design for museum exhibition.
The Louisiana Art & Science Museum, in collaboration with Ellemnop.Art, is hosting its 2026 Student Art Exhibition titled "Blueprints of Culture: Architecture and Design That Shapes Louisiana" in the museum's STEAM Gallery. This open call invites Louisiana students in sixth through 12th grades to participate and showcase their creative talents. The exhibition will explore the foundations of architectural design in Louisiana, encouraging students to create original artworks inspired by the past, present, and future of the state's built environment. Participants will have the opportunity to see their work displayed in a professional museum setting and contribute to a meaningful conversation about Louisiana's cultural heritage through design and architecture. The exhibition will run from April 2026 through April 2027, providing an extended display period for the selected artworks. This is an excellent opportunity for young artists to gain museum exhibition experience, build their portfolios, and explore themes relevant to their home state's unique architectural landscape. Students can create work in various mediums and artistic approaches as long as the pieces relate to the exhibition's theme of Louisiana architecture and design.
