2027 Jeux de la Francophonie - Call for Artists

Young New Brunswick artists aged 18-35 invited to compete internationally in Yerevan, Armenia. Apply by April 30, 2026.

The Government of New Brunswick is issuing a call for young artists to represent Team Canada-New Brunswick at the 10th international Jeux de la Francophonie. This prestigious event will take place in Yerevan, Armenia, from July 23 to August 1, 2027.

The Jeux de la Francophonie is an exceptional international competition held every four years, bringing together thousands of young people who excel in athletic and cultural activities from participating countries and governments of the Francophonie. The event serves as a cultural celebration and platform for exchange between young people from diverse nations, showcasing the talents of rising stars across various disciplines.

Artists can apply to participate in one of four artistic disciplines: painting, photography, song, or literature (short story). This is an outstanding opportunity for young creatives to showcase their work on an international stage and represent New Brunswick's excellence in arts and culture.

The competition is open to artists aged 18 to 35 from all cultural backgrounds, regardless of their language preference. Selected artists will become part of the official Team Canada-New Brunswick delegation. The Canadian delegation to the Jeux de la Francophonie is comprised of three teams: Canada, Canada-Quebec, and Canada-New Brunswick.

At the last Games held in 2023 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, two artists from New Brunswick successfully participated in the cultural competitions, demonstrating the province's competitive talent in the international arena.

Minister Isabelle Thériault emphasized the significance of this opportunity, stating that selected artists will make the province proud and demonstrate New Brunswick's reputation for excellence in arts and culture on the world stage.
