2027 Outdoor Installation Commission for Jackson Arts Center
Center for the Arts seeks bold outdoor installation for 20th anniversary celebration. Open call to professional artists nationwide.
The Center for the Arts (CFTA) in Jackson, Wyoming is issuing an open call for artists to create a transformative outdoor installation for their 20th anniversary celebration in 2027. This is a significant opportunity for professional artists and artist teams across the United States to contribute to a landmark public art project.
The installation will be featured on The Center's 62,000-square-foot lawn, a vibrant venue that hosts musical performances, community events, and daily recreation. The organization is seeking a "bold, imaginative and enduring" piece that invites interaction and engagement from the public. The artwork should enhance the space's role as a community gathering place and reflect the spirit of Jackson's creative community.
According to CFTA Executive Director Marty Camino, "The Center came about from a need to protect and preserve the local arts scene in Jackson. As we approach our 20th year, we're celebrating two decades of providing stability and rootedness for an arts community that inspires creative expression across nearly every medium."
The selected installation will be implemented in spring or summer of 2027. Jackson Hole Public Art has been chosen to manage the project. Artists must submit a statement of qualifications demonstrating experience with large-scale, four-season outdoor sculptures or installations. Applicants should demonstrate a connection to place and the capacity to deliver comparable work in size, budget, and complexity.
This is an excellent opportunity for established artists seeking high-visibility public art commissions in a prestigious location.
