31st Annual Open Studios Tour - Artist Applications

The Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a Call to Artists to apply for participation in the 31st Annual Open Studios Tour, a celebrated biennial event featuring a broad but curated sampling of talented artists in Nevada County's Western Region. Selected artists will open their studio doors during the two-weekend tour, allowing the public to see where art is made, displayed, and appreciated.

The tour welcomes artists working in various mediums including sculpture, painting, photography, woodworking, design, ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, and illustration. Participating studios, galleries, collectives, and art facilities will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on October 10, 11, 17, and 18, 2026.

This free self-guided tour is an excellent opportunity for artists to share their work, meet other local artists, display finished and in-progress projects, conduct live demonstrations, and sell original and printed art directly to customers. Visitors can experience firsthand how, where, and why art is created.

Applications are open from March 2nd through April 10th, 2026. One work from each participating artist will be displayed in the Granucci Gallery Preview Exhibition from September 28th through October 18th, 2026. An Opening Reception and Tour Kick-Off event is scheduled for Thursday, October 8th, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The redesigned Open Studios website features an interactive Google map, artist directory, and downloadable comprehensive guide at openstudiostour.org. Tour guides will also be available at various local businesses and community locations throughout the region.
