33rd Annual Art Grants & 2026 Workshops
Fundación Botín offers six art grants of €23,000 each plus workshops led by renowned artists Yuko Mohri and Solange Pessoa in Santander, Spain.
Fundación Botín is pleased to announce the 33rd edition of its Art Grants, a prestigious international opportunity supporting contemporary artists. The program offers six scholarships for artists of any nationality, with an expected duration of nine months and an endowment of €23,000 for each selected project.
The Art Grants support artists' development, research, and production across various media including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video, installation, sound, and performance. Selected artists will have their works publicly premiered in a collective exhibition titled "Itinerarios" at Centro Botín in Santander. Following the grant period, Fundación Botín continues supporting artists' careers through potential acquisitions for their Collection and invitations to exhibit in the "Enredos" exhibition series.
Since 1993, over 200 artists have benefited from this program, with many establishing themselves on the international art scene. Recent grant recipients have exhibited at major institutions and venues worldwide, including the 2026 Venice Biennale.
In addition to the grants, the foundation will offer two intensive workshops in 2026:
- Yuko Mohri's "Moré Moré (Leaky): Santander" (June 1-10, 2026) exploring Mohri's artistic practice and collaborative work
- Solange Pessoa's "Gardens of Delirium" (September 21-29, 2026) investigating gardens and environments of Santander through visual, philosophical, and poetic inquiry
These non-academic workshops provide spaces for exchange and experimentation, continuing a tradition since 1994.
