42nd Annual Future Choices Visual Arts Competition

Shoreline Arts Alliance is excited to announce the 42nd Annual Future Choices Visual Arts Competition and Exhibition, designed specifically for high school students in the Shoreline region. This prestigious competition welcomes submissions from students in Middlesex County and surrounding towns including Lyme, Old Lyme, East Lyme, Salem, Madison, Guilford, North Branford, Branford, and East Haven.

Students are invited to submit artwork in a diverse range of mediums including ceramics, drawing, digital media, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. This breadth of categories ensures that artists working in various disciplines have an opportunity to showcase their talents.

The competition provides an excellent platform for emerging young artists to gain recognition and exhibition experience. Selected works will be displayed at Flat Rock Gallery, with some award winners featured on the organization's social media platforms, providing valuable exposure.

Winners will receive cash prizes and special honors including Best in Show and the Judy Streeter Outstanding School Award. Additionally, the exhibition will feature artwork by regional art educators, creating an inspiring context for student work.

The exhibition will be held at Flat Rock Gallery, located at 314 Flat Rock Place in Westbrook, with viewing dates from April 8-11 and April 22-27, 2026. Entries must be submitted by March 27, 2026, either by the student artist or their teacher.
