49th Annual Poor Artists Sale in Calumet
Juried holiday art fair featuring 60+ local and regional artists. Shop handmade jewelry, pottery, paintings, stained glass, and more.
The 49th-annual Poor Artists Sale is a juried holiday art fair hosted by the Copper Country Community Arts Council as a benefit for the Community Arts Center in Hancock. This year's sale features the work of more than 60 local and regional artists offering a diverse range of handmade items including jewelry, pottery, paintings, stained glass, baskets, wood art, fiber arts, photography, ornaments, and many other special items.
The event provides an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase and sell their work in a relaxing, social atmosphere. Participating artists include established names like Rebecca Aveen (Animal Listeners Press), Janice Brogan (Fantasy Stained Glass), and emerging artists such as Aleksi Gray Kotila (Alakotila Art) and Joash Pfeiffelman (Center Cross Craftworks). The variety of art forms and artist styles ensures something for every taste and budget.
Beyond shopping, visitors can renew arts council memberships, join the organization, and enjoy homemade treats at the hospitality table while socializing with friends and fellow art enthusiasts. Community groups including Isle Royale and Keweenaw Parks Association, Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition, and Copper Country Education Association also participate.
The Copper Country Community Arts Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an environment where the arts and people grow together. All proceeds benefit the Community Arts Center's mission to support and promote the arts in the Copper Country region.
