5th Petrichor International Music Competition

International music competition accepting applications from musicians worldwide across performance, composition, and recording categories with cash prizes.

The 5th Petrichor International Music Competition is now accepting applications from musicians of all ages and nationalities. The competition welcomes instrumentalists, singers, ensembles, composers, and recording artists across multiple categories with no restrictions on repertoire, musical style, or language.

The competition features three main areas: performance, composition, and recording. Performance categories include solo performers under 16, under 21, and over 21, as well as small ensembles (up to 9 performers) and large ensembles, orchestras, or choirs (more than 9 performers). Composition categories cover composers under 21 and over 21, electronic or multidisciplinary works, film/video game/animation music, arrangements, and improvisation in any genre. A recording category is also available for best album submissions.

Prize money ranges from $200 to $2,000 for first place depending on the category, with second and third place prizes and certificates for 10 finalists in each category. All genres, instrumentation, and lengths are accepted. Submissions do not require anonymity, and works can be submitted in multiple categories with separate fees for each. Studio-quality recordings are not required; mobile and computer recordings are acceptable. Videos may be live recordings or previously submitted elsewhere, and participants retain all rights to their work.
