America 250th Anniversary Carson City Poster Contest
Nevada artists invited to submit original digital designs celebrating America's 250th anniversary. $1,000 prize and national exhibition opportunity.
The City of Carson, Nevada, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, invites Nevada artists to submit original digital designs for the U.S. Conference of Mayors' America 250 City Art Poster Project. This initiative aims to showcase the power of art in community identity and celebrate local history while inspiring hope for the future.
Mayor Bagwell will select one winning design to receive a $1,000 prize and represent Carson City, Nevada, on display at the 94th Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Long Beach, California, June 4-7, 2026. Additional designs may be selected for display in Carson City.
This is an excellent opportunity for artists of all experience levels. Young and new artists are particularly encouraged to apply—no resume or portfolio is required. The selected artist (or parent/guardian if under 18) must provide a W-9 form and invoice to receive payment by check.
The project is delivered as a component of the Mayor's Institute on City Design, a leadership initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts and the U.S. Conference of Mayors. More information about this nationwide project is available at usmayors.org and art.gov.
