Angels for Artists - Halo Arts Project Auction
Annual art auction supporting visual artists in Florida through $5,000 Halo Fellowship Awards. Online bidding January 1-24, live event January 25.
Halo Arts Project, founded in 2018, is dedicated to funding and supporting visual artists in the Sarasota community and beyond. The organization's annual "Angels for Artists" event raises funds through an art auction featuring 90+ original works donated by 50-75 artists from across the country.
The 2025 event includes two components: an online art auction running January 1-24 accessible via app, where bidders can view 90+ pieces of original artwork, and a live Art Party on January 25 from 4:30-8:30 PM at Sarasota Waterworks (1005 N. Orange Ave). The in-person event allows collectors to tour the historic building, meet artists, and place final bids.
Artwork is also on display at the John Sims Studio/Halo Arts Project Gallery (1639 Tenth St) and at Oasis Café & Bakery through year-end. The organization has funded over $450,000 to visual artists to date.
Halo Arts Project also operates a Halo Fellowship Awards Program that funds emerging, mid-range, and professionally dedicated artists year-round. Fellowship funds can support studio expenses, supplies, gallery shows, classes, exhibition fees, and special projects. Artists can apply online throughout the year at haloartsproject.com.
Additionally, the organization is calling for entries for a themed competition with the prompt "What is Beauty?" - exploring presence beyond visual perception. Submissions must be no larger than 24x24 inches. The highest-selling artwork wins $1,500.
