apexart International Open Call 2026-27

Submit idea-based group exhibition proposals to compete for $10k USD exhibition budgets and international presentation opportunities.

apexart invites curators, artists, writers, and creative individuals from around the world to submit 500-word idea-based group exhibition proposals for their 2026-27 International Open Call. Five winning proposals will each receive a $10,000 USD exhibition budget to become apexart exhibitions in their respective locations worldwide as part of the 2026-27 exhibition season.

Proposals should describe a focused, idea-driven, original group exhibition featuring 3 or more artists. Submissions are limited to 500 words and must be in English. No biographical information, CVs, links, or images will be accepted. There are no restrictions on experience level or geographic location of applicants.

The selection process uses apexart's distinctive crowd-sourced jury system rather than a traditional panel review. Hundreds of jurors from more than 85 countries review proposals anonymously and at their own pace over one month. The jury includes professionals from various backgrounds, students from 20 participating university classes, and other international participants. This system generates over 30,000 votes on proposals, ensuring equal consideration and unbiased evaluation.

Winning proposals receive: a $10,000 USD exhibition budget, inclusion in apexart's printed exhibition brochure distributed to over 6,000 international recipients, and participation in the 2026-27 exhibition season. apexart provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to help curators transform their proposals into realized exhibitions. Exhibition curators must work within the provided funding to create focused, noteworthy exhibitions.
