Art Alert Art Show - 38th Annual Exhibition

Plaquemine Bank and Trust hosts annual art show for residents of Iberville and West Baton Rouge Parishes with cash prizes.

Plaquemine Bank and Trust Co. is hosting the 38th annual Art Alert Art Show on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. This exhibition is open to all natives and residents of Iberville and West Baton Rouge Parishes across multiple age categories: children under 10 years, children 10-13 years, young adults 14-18 years, and adults 18+ (both professional and non-professional artists).

Artists may submit a maximum of two pieces in any two-dimensional format that have not been previously entered in this contest. The competition features substantial prize money: First place winners receive $100, second place $50, third place $30, and honorable mention recipients receive $15. A special "Bankers Choice" category also awards $15 prizes.

The show will feature two distinguished judges: Ellen Ogden, a Louisiana-based visual artist specializing in painting, public art, and stained glass with a focus on ecology and community engagement; and Leah Marchand, a New Orleans-born artist known for her innovative work including her signature Leather Maps Series featuring gold maps painted on alligator hides and her oyster shell paintings.

Art entries must be delivered to Plaquemine Bank, located at 24025 Eden St. in Plaquemine, between February 27 and March 13, 2026. On March 18, Plaquemine Bank will host a public reception in the lobby beginning at 4 p.m. to recognize all participating artists, award prizes, and celebrate the participating artwork.
