Art of Downtown Casper Exhibit Submission

Local artists invited to submit work capturing downtown Casper's unique character for Nicolaysen Art Museum exhibition.

The Nicolaysen Art Museum (NIC) is calling for submissions to the "Art of Downtown Casper" exhibit, the second in a series celebrating local artists and their perspectives on Casper. This gallery opportunity invites artists to showcase what makes downtown Casper special through their creative lens.

Downtown Casper has developed a unique character over 125 years, from its iconic architecture including the orange peel "M" and Lou Taubert buildings to its vibrant businesses, art scene, and community. The museum seeks artists who can capture this distinctive charm and character through their work.

Artists may submit work in any medium, including but not limited to photography, painting, sculpture, poetry, video, and multimedia pieces. According to NIC Executive Director Alison Maluchnik, "Nobody knows an area better than the locals. What makes us unique? What makes us charming? What will bring people here?" The museum encourages creative interpretations and has previously featured multimedia pieces combining various art forms.

Each artist may submit up to two pieces. All submissions will enter a contest with the opportunity to have one piece featured in the Visit Casper 2027 catalog. The gallery will officially open for public viewing on January 9, 2026.

Submissions must be completed through the Nicolaysen Art Museum website. The deadline for submissions is Friday, December 5, 2025. This is a community-focused opportunity for local Casper artists to gain exhibition space and potential promotional visibility through the Visit Casper tourism catalog.
