Artadia 2025 Houston Awards - $15,000 Artist Grants

Three Houston artists will receive $15,000 unrestricted funding plus access to national network and resources through Artadia's annual award program.

Artadia, a national nonprofit advocacy organization supporting innovation in the visual arts, is accepting applications for its 2025 Houston Awards. Three selected visual artists will receive $15,000 in unrestricted funds, providing complete creative freedom in how the money is used. Beyond the financial support, awardees gain access to the Artadia Network, which offers valuable opportunities for professional connections and resource sharing with artists, curators, and arts professionals nationwide. Winners also receive a dedicated webpage on Artadia's online Artist Registry, increasing their professional visibility. The selection process involves a jury of three curators assembled by Artadia, including one Houston-based curator who understands the local arts scene. All applications are reviewed to create a shortlist of six finalists, who then participate in virtual studio visits with jurors. Recognizing the time and effort invested by applicants, Artadia provides honorariums to the three finalists who are not selected as final awardees. Houston joins six other major cities in this prestigious annual program: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco. Past Houston winners include notable artists such as Gabriel Martinez (2024), Violette Bule (2023), Kaneem Smith (2017), The Art Guys (2004), and Trenton Doyle Hancock (2003), demonstrating the program's support for diverse artistic practices and career stages.
