Artist Support Provision in Malaysia

UNESCO seeks professional entities in Malaysia to provide artist support under the Embracing Shared Heritage Through Performing Arts program.

UNESCO's regional office in Jakarta, in partnership with Temasek Foundation, has launched the "Embracing Shared Heritage Through Performing Arts" program (2025-2027) to strengthen traditional performing arts in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. This call for proposals seeks professional entities based in Malaysia to provide comprehensive artist support as part of this initiative.

The program aims to foster cross-border cultural exchange and collaboration among Southeast Asian nations, with a focus on preserving and promoting traditional performing arts. The artist support provision is a critical component of this broader regional effort to build capacity and sustain cultural heritage through performing arts.

This is a 7-month engagement opportunity for qualified professionals and entities with demonstrated expertise in artist development, performing arts administration, and cultural project management. Successful applicants will work directly with UNESCO to support artists and performing arts organizations throughout Malaysia.

The position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to cultural preservation efforts across Southeast Asia while strengthening traditional performing arts at regional and national levels. Applicants should have strong experience in arts administration, artist mentoring, and understanding of Malaysia's performing arts landscape.
