Arts Council Digital Artist in Residence Programme Ireland
€18,000 residency for mid-career digital artists in Ireland with University of Limerick partnership and dedicated workspace support.
The Arts Council Digital Artist in Residence University Pilot Programme offers a unique opportunity for mid-career and established digital artists based in the Republic of Ireland to engage deeply with their creative practice. The residency provides a total fee of €18,000, with the Arts Council contributing €13,000 and the University of Limerick providing €5,000. The programme supports digital arts including data art, computer software, artificial intelligence, video, virtual and augmented reality, digital lighting, and web-based art. Artists will receive a dedicated workspace at the University of Limerick, administrative support, and access to the existing digital arts ecosystem in Limerick. The full fee is paid directly to artists by the Arts Council in two instalments. Eligible applicants must be residents of the Republic of Ireland with a strong background in digital arts and must not have previously received public funding from the Arts Council for the same activities. The programme encourages applications from artists representing Ireland's diverse society and embraces inclusivity across all backgrounds. At the residency's conclusion, artists must submit a final report detailing their experience and outcomes to the Arts Council.
