Arts Council Digital Artist Residency Programme Ireland

€18,000 residency for mid-career digital artists in Ireland at University of Limerick with workspace and administrative support.

The Arts Council Digital Artist in Residence University Pilot Programme offers an exceptional opportunity for mid-career and established digital artists based in the Republic of Ireland to deepen their creative practice. This residency provides a total fee of €18,000, with €13,000 contributed by the Arts Council and €5,000 from the University of Limerick. The programme is designed for artists working in digital arts as defined by the Arts Council, including data art, computer software, artificial intelligence, video, virtual and augmented reality, digital lighting, online streaming, web-based art, and multimedia formats. Artists will receive a dedicated workspace at the University of Limerick and benefit from the existing digital arts ecosystem in the city. Administrative support is provided throughout the residency period. The full fee is paid directly by the Arts Council in two installments. At the residency's conclusion, artists must submit a final report detailing their experience and outcomes. Eligibility requires residency in the Republic of Ireland and a strong background in digital arts. Importantly, artists who have previously received public funding from the Arts Council or other sources for the same proposed activities are not eligible. The programme actively encourages applications from artists representing Ireland's diverse society, embracing inclusivity across gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, age, disability, race, Traveller Community membership, and socioeconomic background.
