Benches on the Avenue Public Art Project

Create unique, family-friendly 3D art designs for Tinley Park's 23rd annual public art initiative themed 'Party in the USA.'

The Village of Tinley Park is seeking talented artists for its 23rd annual Benches on the Avenue public art project, running from May to October 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to create one-of-a-kind works of art that will be displayed publicly and enjoyed by families throughout the community.

Project Details:
The 2026 theme is "Party in the USA," inviting artists to express what America means to them through creative, imaginative designs. All artwork must be three-dimensional and designed to be kid- and family-friendly, ensuring the pieces resonate with a broad audience.

Location and Duration:
The benches will be displayed along Oak Park Avenue from May to October 2026, transforming the area into an open-air art gallery celebrating American pride and artistic expression.

Submission Requirements:
Interested artists must complete the 2026 Benches on the Avenue Call to Artists form and submit it along with two design concepts for review. The Village will evaluate all submissions and notify selected artists by January 7, 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for artists of all levels to gain public exposure, contribute to community beautification, and celebrate American culture through public art. The project encourages creativity while maintaining accessibility and appeal to families and visitors of all ages.
