The Cape Ann Artisans Fall Open Studios presents the 42nd annual self-guided tour featuring 14 member studios in Gloucester and Rockport. This weekend event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, offering visitors the opportunity to explore diverse artistic practices and meet working artists in their creative spaces. The tour showcases a wide range of art forms including glass mosaics, functional pottery, fine art photography, quilting, ceramics, porcelain and stoneware, handwoven accessories, oil and watercolor painting, contemporary experimental arts, and sculpture. Several artists will conduct live demonstrations during the tour: Pam Stratton will demonstrate glass melting techniques for jewelry and mosaics at 11 a.m. both days, while Kathy Roberts will present floral watercolor painting techniques on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The tour route is marked with bright pink flags to help visitors navigate between studios. Participating artists include seasoned professionals working in various mediums, from traditional ceramics and painting to contemporary sea glass wearable art and experimental arts. This event provides an excellent opportunity for art enthusiasts to witness artistic processes firsthand, purchase original works directly from creators, and engage with the vibrant Cape Ann artistic community.
