Cedar Rapids Rotating Sculpture Exhibit

Cedar Rapids invites artists nationwide to showcase work in new rotating sculpture exhibit in Czech Village with one-year leases.

The City of Cedar Rapids and its Public Art Commission are opening a nationwide call for artists to participate in an exciting new rotating sculpture exhibit launching in 2026. This opportunity invites artists from across the country to have their work featured in a high-visibility, high-traffic location that will serve as a major cultural draw for the community.

The exhibit will feature five outdoor sculptures placed along the newly designed B Street Promenade in the Czech Village district. Each sculpture will be featured on a one-year lease, with installation planned for mid-June 2026. The B Street Promenade is a developing community space designed to attract both residents and visitors through recreational amenities and trail connections.

City officials emphasize that this project is intended to elevate the cultural vibrancy of the Czech Village district while providing selected artists with a prominent platform to showcase their work to a diverse audience. The opportunity is open to artists of all backgrounds and disciplines, encouraging submissions from varied artistic perspectives and mediums.

Applications opened on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Interested artists can access the full Request for Proposals and submit their applications through the Cedar Rapids Rotating Sculpture Exhibit website. This is an excellent opportunity for artists seeking to gain exposure, contribute to their community's cultural landscape, and establish their work in a well-trafficked public space.
