Cleveland Sews 'Design the Vote' Art Contest Winner Vote
Vote for the winning design in Cleveland Sews' civic engagement art contest. Winner gets $500 and design printed on tote bags.
Cleveland Sews, an education and workforce sewing program using upcycled materials, held a 'Design the Vote' Art Contest seeking original artwork that inspires civic engagement and promotes democratic participation. Around 30 artists submitted designs ranging from pencil sketches to abstract paintings, featuring symbols like birds, ballot boxes, and the Statue of Liberty. Many entries came through a partnership with the Cuyahoga County Jail, where Cleveland Sews helped incarcerated individuals participate. The contest winner receives $500 plus their design printed on reusable tote bags distributed at local civic engagement events. Second and third place winners get $250 and have their designs featured during live screenprinting demonstrations. Community members who vote for the winning design receive a free tote bag. The submission period has ended, and now the public can vote to choose the winner through a democratic process on Cleveland Sews' website until 11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. One vote per person is allowed.
