Cluley Projects 2026 Open Call for Artists
Dallas gallery announces winners of fifth annual open call and arts writing mentorship with solo exhibition, documentation, and honorarium.
Erin Cluley Gallery in Dallas has announced the winners of its fifth annual Cluley Projects Open Call for Artists and its second annual Arts Writing Mentorship program. Katherine Miller, a Dallas-based artist whose work combines weaving, printmaking, and natural materials, has been selected as the Open Call winner. She will receive a solo exhibition at Erin Cluley Gallery in May 2026, along with professional exhibition documentation and a $500 honorarium. Miller holds a BFA in Fibers from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has recently participated in the 2025 Vignette Art Fair juried exhibition and group exhibitions at the Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts Turner House and the Kemp Center for the Arts. She is currently participating in an Art Restoration Apprenticeship with Markt Ludwig Art Studios in Dallas. The Arts Writing Mentorship selected writer is Jillian Wendel, an independent curator, educator, and writer based in North Texas. Wendel will receive a $500 honorarium and mentorship from Harrison Blake, the gallery's staff writer. As part of the program, Wendel will respond to Miller's exhibition in a published text to be presented at the opening reception. Wendel holds bachelor's degrees in Art History and Philosophy, a master's degree in Art Education, and a certification in Art Museum Education from the University of North Texas. They created The Shed Show, a backyard project space in Denton, in 2024. In 2024, Erin Cluley Gallery reimagined its Cluley Projects initiative, previously a West Dallas satellite project space serving as a regional arts incubator, into new initiatives including the Open Call for Artists and Arts Writing Mentorship.
