CM + A Window Residency Program

Chilliwack Museum invites artists to transform ground-floor windows into dynamic public art gallery space through collaborative residency program.

The Chilliwack Museum and Archives, in collaboration with the Chilliwack Arts Council, is launching the CM + A Window Residency program. This innovative initiative invites artists to create bold, site-responsive artwork for the ground-floor windows of the historic 1912 Chilliwack City Hall building. The street-facing windows are positioned in a busy pedestrian corridor in the downtown core, making them an ideal public-facing gallery space for contemporary art. Selected artists will be invited to propose work that engages with themes of place, community, and shared memory, bringing artistic storytelling, reflection, and connection to everyday public spaces. The residency offers a unique opportunity for artists to reach a wide audience through this accessible, dynamic canvas that transforms the museum's architectural features into an exhibition venue. This collaborative program between the Chilliwack Museum and Archives and the Chilliwack Arts Council represents a commitment to supporting local artists and enriching the cultural landscape of the community through innovative public art initiatives.
