Congdon-DeValles Mural Artist Call
New Bedford invites local artists to apply for mural work at new elementary school. Interior and exterior opportunities available.
The City of New Bedford is seeking talented local artists to create murals at the newly constructed Congdon-DeValles Elementary School. This is an exciting opportunity for artists to contribute to the school community and leave a lasting artistic impact on an educational institution.
The project includes opportunities for both interior and exterior mural installations, allowing artists to showcase their work in different contexts and mediums. This is a significant public art opportunity that will be seen by students, staff, families, and visitors to the school.
To learn more about this opportunity and see the construction site firsthand, the City of New Bedford is hosting an information session and site visit. This is an excellent chance for interested artists to ask questions, understand the scope of the project, review the space where murals will be installed, and gather detailed information about application requirements and selection criteria.
The information session will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The meeting location is at the P3 trailer located in the southeast corner of the construction site at Congdon-DeValles Elementary School, 350 Bolton Street, New Bedford, MA 02744.
