Connextions 2026 Vinyl Photo Window Murals

Town of Oakville invites professional artists to submit photo-based artwork for large-scale vinyl window installations at community centres.

The Town of Oakville is seeking professional artists to create photo-based artwork for the Connextions 2026 Vinyl Window Murals project. Selected artworks will be reproduced as large-scale vinyl installations on community centre windows throughout Oakville, enhancing public spaces with vibrant, community-focused visual art.

This project celebrates connecting communities through art, encouraging artists to propose work reflecting neighbourhood identity, shared spaces, and belonging. Artwork should be vibrant, community-focused, and inspired by arts, culture, or nature.

Selected artists will receive an $800 commission per mural. The murals will be displayed during two major festivals: the CONTACT Photography Festival in May 2026 and Ontario Culture Days Festival from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

Eligible artists must be professional Canadian artists (emerging, mid-career, or established) living in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas, with priority given to those with demonstrated connections to Oakville. Artists must be at least 18 years old. Previous Connextions project participants are not eligible.

Submissions deadline is March 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Interested artists should visit the Connextions page for detailed guidelines, past examples, and the submission portal.
