Culture and Health Platform 2026 Artist Grants

€24,000 in grants for 6 artistic projects in Romania promoting health and well-being through participatory arts practices.

The Culture and Health Platform is inviting applications from artists in Romania to develop or consolidate artistic practices focused on health and well-being. This initiative supports participatory arts interventions that complement medical care, prevent health problems, strengthen social relationships, and encourage healthier behaviors.

The call offers a total budget of €24,000 distributed among 6 supported projects. Funding is available through two categories: Category I (Institutional Partnership Projects) offering up to €5,000 gross per project, and Category II (Community-Based Projects) offering up to €3,000 gross per project.

Eligible artistic disciplines include visual arts, performing arts, music, dance, circus, and other artistic fields. Projects must actively involve participants in the creative process and demonstrate understanding of beneficiaries' context. Funding covers artist fees, taxes, travel, accommodation, and development/implementation costs.

Applicants must be individual artists or collectives based in Romania with at least three years of professional artistic experience. They must hold Romanian nationality or residency and be at least 18 years old. Emerging artists collaborating with professionals such as public health specialists, psychologists, or social workers are encouraged to apply.

Projects must take place in Romania between April 25 and December 31, 2026. The selection process includes a March 10-29 review period, with results announced March 30. Selected candidates must confirm by April 3, and contracting occurs April 6-24. Final reporting is due within 30 days after project completion, but no later than January 31, 2027.
