Culture and Health Platform 2026 Open Call

Funding for 6 participatory arts projects in Romania promoting health and well-being. €24,000 total available with grants up to €5,000.

The Culture and Health Platform is inviting applications from emerging artists and collectives in Romania to develop participatory artistic projects that promote physical and emotional well-being. This initiative supports artistic interventions that complement medical care, prevent health problems, strengthen social relationships, and encourage healthier behaviors through interdisciplinary collaboration between arts and health sectors.

The programme will fund 6 projects with a total budget of €24,000. Two funding categories are available: Category I (Institutional Partnership Projects) offers up to €5,000 gross per project and requires partnership with health, education, or care institutions; Category II (Community-Based Projects) offers up to €3,000 gross per project for implementation in community, cultural, educational, medical, or social spaces.

Eligible artistic disciplines include visual arts, performing arts, music, dance, circus, and other artistic fields. Both new and previously tested interventions are eligible. Funding covers artist fees, taxes, travel, accommodation, and development/implementation costs. Projects must take place in Romania between April 25 and December 31, 2026.

Applicants must be individual artists or collectives based in Romania with at least three years of professional artistic experience. They must hold Romanian nationality or residency, be at least 18 years old, and identify as emerging artists in culture and health. Participatory involvement with at least eight meetings with identified participants is recommended. All projects must demonstrate understanding of beneficiaries' context, ensure artistic quality, and prioritize participants' well-being.
