Declaration/Declaración Exhibition - Art Submissions

Las Cruces Museum of Art seeks artwork exploring the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence from New Mexico and El Paso artists.

The Las Cruces Museum of Art is soliciting artwork for "Declaration/Declaración," an exhibition exploring the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This powerful investigation and expression will examine the diversity, complexity, and evolving story of the American experiment with democracy.

The exhibition consists of two parts: an invitational featuring four Borderland artists with ties to Las Cruces who will anchor the exhibition, and a juried call for art by artists from throughout New Mexico and El Paso.

Eligible artists may submit up to three art pieces in either 2-D or 3-D format. Any artistic medium is acceptable, including painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, digital art, and mixed media. All submitted artwork must be original pieces either created within the last five years (2021-2025) or specifically created in response to the exhibition themes.

Artwork must not infringe on copyrights or include AI-generated components. The Las Cruces Museum of Art is looking for artists who live in New Mexico or El Paso to participate in this significant national celebration.
