DMC Futures Mentorship Programme 2026

Fully-funded mentorship pairing emerging creatives with industry professionals. 12 hours of one-to-one guidance for young artists in southern Scotland.

Dumfries Music Collective (DMC) has reopened its Futures programme, a fully-funded mentorship initiative designed to support emerging creatives in music, art, and performance. The programme pairs young artists with leading industry professionals, offering 12 hours of personalized one-to-one guidance to help participants advance their careers.

The mentorship programme provides invaluable opportunities for young creatives to learn directly from experienced professionals who share industry insights and advice on taking the next steps in their careers. Past participants have experienced significant career growth, including live performance opportunities, conference showcases, tour experiences, and the ability to organize their own creative events.

Notable alumni include Alexander Romance, an avant-garde artist who was connected with BBC Introducing Scotland winner Bemz through the programme, and performed at the DMC Annual Conference and YouthBeatz festival. Another success story is Joseph Cursare, who began his first tour at age 15 with DMC's support and has since released multiple EPs and signed a recording deal.

For 2026, DMC is offering six mentorship spots running from January. The programme welcomes applicants from all creative disciplines, including music, visual art, performance, and other artistic fields. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging artists to gain professional guidance, build industry connections, and accelerate their creative careers with support from established professionals in their fields.
