Elm City Mini Mural Contest

Local artist Russell Michael is organizing a mini mural contest for Elm City, designed as the first step in creating an art community within the municipality. This opportunity invites artists to submit designs for six different 3-foot by 6-foot metal panels with canvas over wood inserts.

The contest theme centers around music album covers, giving artists creative freedom to choose their favorite artist or musical style as inspiration for their designs. This thematic approach allows for diverse artistic expressions while maintaining a cohesive vision for the public art project.

Financial incentives are provided to encourage participation. All selected artists will receive a $200 stipend for their participation and work. Additionally, the artist whose design is judged as the best mural will receive an additional $500 award, recognizing exceptional artistic achievement.

An important feature of this opportunity is that the muralists retain the option to sell their finished inserts if they choose to do so, providing potential additional income beyond the stipend and prize money.
