Erie County Public Art Commissions

Two public art commissions available for Erie County artists. Up to $75,000 funding per project. Deadline April 20, 2026.

Erie County is pleased to announce two new Calls for Artists as part of the Arts in Public Places program. This initiative seeks to make art accessible to all Erie County residents and visitors while fostering a sense of community connection and civic pride.

Two public art commissions are available for installation at the following locations:
1. Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens
2. Isle View Park

Eligibility Requirements:
- Artists must be current residents of Erie County
- Artists must not have been previously selected to complete an Art in Public Places (AIPP) public art project

Funding and Details:
- Each selected project will receive funding of up to $75,000
- This is an opportunity to create meaningful public art that enhances these community spaces
- Selected artists will work with Erie County to develop and install their public art projects

The selection process will evaluate proposals based on artistic merit, community impact, feasibility, and alignment with the project locations. A virtual Q&A session will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. to provide detailed information about the opportunity, selection criteria, and project requirements. Artists interested in applying are strongly encouraged to attend.
