Escondido Creek Trail Mural Project - Call for Artists

Artists sought to create murals on buildings along Escondido Creek trail featuring themes of Fauna, Flora, Culture and Agriculture.

Esco Alley Art is launching an exciting mural project as part of the City of Escondido's initiative to revitalize the Escondido Creek corridor with new hiking and biking trails. This project aims to transform the area into an outdoor community gallery through artistic design elements that beautify buildings along the trail. The focus building is owned by Neighborhood Healthcare and faces the creek, providing an excellent opportunity for artistic display. The Escondido Creek Trail Mural project will create a unique outdoor gallery experience for hikers, bikers, and strollers. Artists are invited to submit proposals that explore four specific themes: Fauna (local wildlife), Flora (native plants and vegetation), Culture (community heritage and traditions), and Agriculture (the region's farming history and practices). This is an exceptional opportunity for artists to contribute to a significant public art project that will enhance the community's outdoor recreational experience while celebrating the natural and cultural heritage of Escondido. The murals will serve as educational and inspirational elements for trail users, creating a meaningful connection between art, environment, and community. Artists selected for this project will have the chance to create lasting public artwork that will be viewed by countless community members and visitors exploring the revitalized creek corridor.
