Florida's History Shop Artist Consignment Opportunity
Florida's History Shop seeks Florida-based artists for consignment sales of Florida-themed artwork with 60/40 payment split.
Florida's History Shop, the retail store for the Museum of Florida History, is seeking proposals from Florida-based artists to sell their Florida-themed artwork through consignment agreements. The opportunity offers a 60/40 payment split between the artist and the shop, with artwork priced between $50-$500. The shop is looking for original pieces that evoke Florida's history, environment, or wildlife, or artworks that use traditional skills learned in Florida. Accepted mediums include textiles, paintings, jewelry, porcelain, woodwork, and other original art forms. This initiative is part of the Florida Department of State's celebration of America's 250th anniversary, aiming to provide customers with unique, Florida-inspired merchandise that represents the state's history and natural beauty. Florida's History Shop operates locations in the Florida Historic Capitol Museum and The Capitol in Tallahassee, plus an online store. All proceeds from sales support the education programs of the Museum of Florida History, Florida's official state history museum. Artists must be Florida-based and artwork must have Florida themes or connections.
