FluxusMuseum Prize for Experimental Video 2026
€45,000 prize supporting experimental video artists with funding, development, and exhibition opportunities. Open to all artistic disciplines.
The FluxusMuseum Prize for Experimental Video is a prestigious award now in its third year, offering substantial financial, developmental, and exhibition support for experimental video artists. Based in Parikia, Paros, Greece, FluxusMuseum is a multidisciplinary cultural institution dedicated to exploring innovative artistic practices through experimental video, performance, sound, and digital media.
The prize distributes a total of €45,000 throughout the prize cycle, compensating artists at multiple stages: participation fees for shortlisted artists, development funding for finalists, fees for completed works, and final prize money awarded at the conclusion of the exhibition period.
Eligible applicants include practitioners in visual art, performance art, film, experimental cinema, animation, music and sound art, writing, and hybrid interdisciplinary formats. Artists at any career stage may apply, and works in progress are explicitly welcomed.
Submissions require a video proposal of up to three minutes, which can be a short excerpt from existing work, a visual sketch, or a conceptual presentation. The focus is on artistic vision, originality, and experimental approach rather than production polish.
The selection process is multi-stage and audience-inclusive: artists submit proposals, a professional panel shortlists 100 works based on artistic quality and originality, the 100 shortlisted proposals are published on FluxusMuseumTV for public engagement and audience participation, and 10 finalists receive development funding to produce their works. Completed films are exhibited at the FluxusMuseum gallery, with winners announced after the exhibition period.
FluxusMuseum maintains an artist-first rights policy: artists retain full ownership of their works, can screen films elsewhere without restriction, and FluxusMuseum retains exhibition rights within the museum and on its official platforms including FluxusMuseumTV.
