Foley Family Pavilion Public Art Installation
Healdsburg seeks artist for $45,000 public art installation at new community pavilion opening December 2025.
The Healdsburg Arts and Culture Commission is seeking an artist to create a public art installation for the Foley Family Community Pavilion, scheduled to open in December 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a significant community space that will serve as a cultural and gathering hub for Healdsburg.
The pavilion will house the Healdsburg Farmers Market, host local events, and provide cool shelter for community members. The site holds historical significance as a reminder of the region's agricultural past, including a cannery and warehouse that previously stood on the location.
The artist selection process includes two phases. In Phase 1, artists submit their qualifications through a request for qualifications process. A selection committee will review submissions and invite select artists to proceed to Phase 2, where they will develop and submit detailed proposals. All artists selected for Phase 2 will receive a $1,000 stipend for their work.
The project budget is $45,000. The installation should mesh with the site, signify the area's agricultural history, celebrate the local community, and be functional within the new space. Artists may work in various visual formats including painting, photography, sculpture, technology, or other media.
The deadline for submitting qualifications is December 3, 2025. For comprehensive information, detailed deadline details, the request for qualifications document, and the application form, visit www.healdsburg.gov/foleypavilionartproject.
