Fotografisk Center Open Call 2026

Annual exhibition for emerging Danish photographers. Open call for Young Danish Photography exhibition in Copenhagen, November 2026.

Fotografisk Center and the collective Foto Studio are announcing an open call for the 2026 edition of Young Danish Photography, an annual exhibition established in 1998 that showcases emerging talents and new trends within the Danish photographic art scene. This marks the first year the exhibition will use an open call selection process instead of direct invitations.

The term "young" refers to the artist's practice rather than age, while "Danish" signifies a connection to Denmark, Greenland, or the Faroe Islands. The call welcomes visual artists and photographers whose work involves photography in various forms, with no specific thematic restrictions for this edition.

Selected photographers will be featured in an exhibition at Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, in late November 2026. Between 6 and 12 participants will be selected by a jury managed by Fotografisk Center in collaboration with Foto Studio, which includes visual artists Tine Bek, Paula Duvå, and Mads Holm.

Selected artists will receive compensation based on the Danish Visual Artists' Association (BKF) rates for group exhibitions. Fotografisk Center will also manage insurance and transport of works within Denmark.

Fotografisk Center, founded in 1996, is located in the historic Kødbyen district in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, and promotes art photography through diverse exhibitions, publications, research, and educational programs.
