Frederick Arts Council: Where Energy Meets Matter Exhibition

Art exhibition exploring the intersection of art and science in partnership with Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research.

The Frederick Arts Council invites artists to participate in 'Where Energy Meets Matter: Exploring the Frontiers of Science,' running November 20 through January 20 at Gallery 115 in the Y Arts Center. This unique exhibition celebrates the cutting-edge research and innovation at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. Artists are encouraged to explore the dynamic interplay of art and science, capturing the essence of energy and matter through explorations of physics, biology, or unseen forces that shape our universe. The laboratory conducts significant scientific advancements including genome editing, cancer diagnostics from liquid biopsies, modeling human organ structure and function, and digital twinning technology. Artists can submit existing work that fits the science theme or create new pieces inspired by the research being conducted at the National Laboratory. The exhibition seeks work that captures biological structures at atomic levels, innovative medical research, and the intersection of technology and human understanding. Artists will retain 60% of sales from their work, making this both an artistic and commercial opportunity.
