FuTopia 2026 in Zanzibar invites musicians, dancers, poets, and creative practitioners to perform at this sustainability-focused festival on August 8-9, 2026.

FuTopia 2026 is calling for performers and creative practitioners to participate in its upcoming edition scheduled for Fumba Town, Zanzibar from August 8-9, 2026. This creative platform centers on sustainability, conscious design, and community-led expression, bringing together artists, designers, performers, and small businesses to collaborate on experiences that prioritize environmental awareness and cultural storytelling.

The festival seeks artists whose work engages with African sonic, cultural, and creative practices, with particular emphasis on sustainability, audience participation, and socially conscious themes. FuTopia is looking for performances and projects rooted in African cultural expression that challenge conventional formats and explore new creative forms, encourage audience interaction, and employ environmentally responsible production methods with clear social, cultural, or ecological messages.

Eligible applicants include musicians and live bands, DJs and electronic performers, dancers and choreographers, poets and storytellers, theatre-makers and performance artists, visual and interactive artists, and hybrid/interdisciplinary creators. Priority will be given to proposals featuring interactive elements, sustainable approaches, and conscious themes. Due to the volume of submissions expected, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for further details.
