Gasworks 2026 Residency for Palestinian Artists
Fully funded 11-week residency for Palestinian artists. Includes studio, accommodation, travel, and living stipend. Apply by January 12, 2026.
Gasworks has opened applications for its 2026 Residency for Palestinian Artists, a fully funded opportunity designed to support emerging and mid-career practitioners working in contemporary visual arts from anywhere in the world. Running from July 7 to September 21, 2026, this eleven-week residency reflects Gasworks' commitment to fostering experimental, socially engaged, and research-led artistic practices through international exchange and cultural dialogue.
The residency is conceived as a self-directed, process-based programme that prioritizes research and development over production outcomes. Selected residents will receive comprehensive support including a private studio at Gasworks, accommodation at the organisation's Residency House, return travel, visa assistance, a weekly living stipend, a materials budget, and a London travel card. Additional support includes curatorial, pastoral, and administrative guidance throughout the programme, with opportunities for studio visits with peers and arts professionals. The residency culminates in an Open Studio on September 12, 2026, where audiences can encounter the artist's work-in-progress and research insights.
Applications are welcome from Palestinian artists working across all contemporary visual arts mediums and approaches, including painting, sculpture, installation, performance, digital and new media, socially engaged practices, and interdisciplinary work. A selection panel composed of Gasworks staff and external experts in contemporary Palestinian art will review applications, with shortlisted candidates invited to online interviews before final selection. The residency forms part of Gasworks' broader mission to host up to twenty international artists annually, offering time, resources, and support to develop new ideas while engaging with London's creative ecosystem. The 2026 Palestinian Residency is generously supported by the Gasworks' Palestinian Residency Patrons Circle.
