Georgetown Art Center 2027 Solo Exhibition Open Call

Open call for U.S.-based artists to propose monthlong solo exhibitions. $500 honorarium plus marketing support. Deadline February 28, 2026.

The Georgetown Art Center (GAC) is accepting proposals from artists in any media residing in the United States for its 2027 exhibition season. This open call invites artists to propose a monthlong solo exhibition featuring work created within the past three years.

Selected artists will receive a $500 honorarium to support exhibition expenses, including materials and travel costs. Artists residing outside of Texas may request an additional travel stipend. Beyond financial support, GAC provides comprehensive promotional assistance including exhibition signage, printed postcards, inclusion in press releases, monthly newsletters, social media promotion, and printed season brochures.

Each exhibition includes an opening reception and artist talk hosted by the art center. Selected artists also have the opportunity to teach a masterclass during their exhibition run. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to gain exposure, professional development, and support for their practice.

Proposals will be reviewed by a distinguished panel of three artists: Caroline Walker (Austin-based sculptor exploring themes of home and interconnectedness), Mark Greenwalt (Houston/Galveston-based surrealistic drawer), and Molly Mansfield (Austin-based painter addressing femininity through craft-informed work). Each panelist had solo exhibitions at GAC in 2025. Their recommendations go to the art center's Exhibits Committee, comprised of educators, gallery owners, and artists.

Finalist artists will be interviewed by the Exhibits Committee, with selected artists notified by April 30, 2026. GAC reserves the right to reject entries containing hate speech, gratuitous violence, or racism.
