Heirlooms Exhibition Open Call at Wavelength Space
Open call for artists to submit work exploring themes of home, memory, and forgotten objects for exhibition Dec 12 - Feb 6 in Chattanooga, TN.
Wavelength Space in Chattanooga, TN is seeking artwork for their "Heirlooms" exhibition, running December 12 through February 6th. The exhibition explores themes of home, memory, and breathing new life into neglected or forgotten things, focusing on how keepsakes and precious mementos serve as tangible bridges between past and future. The curators are looking for work that fits this broad lens, including pieces that use traditional skills passed down through generations such as quilting, weaving, and woodworking, as well as any work that references how memory gives value to possessions. Artists may submit 1-3 images of finished work in PDF format, along with an artist bio and statement. All submitted works must be completed and available for exhibition by December 12, 2025, with no substitutions allowed. The show will be co-curated by Wavelength's curatorial interns Lillian Dent and Belle Arp, along with gallery director Raquel Mullins. Current UTC students can participate for free, while all other artists must pay a non-refundable $30 submission fee. Artists will receive response emails by November 9th. Wavelength Space operates with a 50% commission rate on all sales, and works marked as not for sale are eligible for exhibition.
