Hope Rising: 2026 Member Show at Newport Visual Arts Center
Oregon Coast Council for the Arts annual member exhibition celebrating resilience and renewal. Open to all skill levels through May 3, 2026.
The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts invites members and prospective members to participate in "Hope Rising," the 2026 annual member show at the Newport Visual Arts Center. Now in its fourth year, this inclusive exhibition has become a cornerstone of the regional arts calendar, showcasing the diverse talents within the council's membership.
The theme "Hope Rising" encourages participating artists to explore themes of resilience and renewal, incorporating vibrant coastal sunrise palettes and optimism into their work. The exhibition welcomes artists at all skill levels, from emerging creators to established professionals, working across multiple media including painting, fiber, ceramics, photography, mixed media, and collage.
The show opens on Sunday, March 8, 2026, and runs through May 3, 2026, at the Newport Visual Arts Center located at 777 N.W. Beach Drive. An opening reception with music and light refreshments is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. on March 8.
Artists can submit one original work for consideration during designated submission times: Sunday, March 1, from 1 to 4 p.m., or Monday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to noon. Both council members and non-members can participate. Artists who are not yet OCCA members can join online or when submitting their artwork.
Eligible pieces must be original works created within the past three years that have not been previously exhibited at the Newport Visual Arts Center. AI-generated work and reproductions are not eligible. The inclusive nature of this show makes it an excellent opportunity for artists seeking regional exhibition opportunities and community recognition.
