Insect Art Show - Call for Artists

Submit your insect-themed artwork to the Gilmore Hall art exhibition. Deadline October 8th.

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is calling for artists to submit work for their upcoming Insect Art Show. This exhibition provides an opportunity for artists to showcase artwork inspired by or featuring insects as the central theme. The show will be displayed at Gilmore Hall 607, offering exposure within the university's academic community and visitors to the campus. This call for artists represents a unique chance to explore the fascinating world of insects through artistic interpretation, whether through traditional media, contemporary approaches, or mixed media. Artists can draw inspiration from the rich biodiversity of Hawaiian insects, scientific illustrations, abstract interpretations, or conceptual pieces that examine the relationship between humans and insects. The exhibition venue at Gilmore Hall is part of the university's commitment to showcasing diverse artistic voices and themes that connect art with science and nature. Participating artists will have their work displayed in an academic setting that attracts students, faculty, staff, and community members interested in both art and natural sciences.
