It's All About Birds Juried Exhibition

Juried exhibition at Summit Art Gallery exploring birds in today's world. Features nearly 30 artists with cash prizes awarded.

The Summit Art Gallery, in partnership with the Top of West Virginia Arts Council, presents 'It's All About Birds,' a juried exhibition that invites artists and viewers to explore and observe how birds fit into today's world and how they connect to their own lives. The exhibition runs through April 9, 2026, with an opening reception scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on February 18, 2026, at the Top of West Virginia CVB, located at 243 Three Springs Drive, Suite 17, in Weirton.

This exhibition was juried by Jes Reger Davis, a Mountain State native and accomplished watercolorist whose work reflects a strong connection to the wild wonders of Appalachia. The exhibition features original works by nearly 30 artists from Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Jefferson, Belmont, and Marshall counties.

Artists were invited to submit work featuring both literal depictions of birds and broader interpretations of the theme, including nests and feathers, migration patterns, symbolism, and personal reflections on nature. The show highlights a variety of artistic disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and more.

Cash prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, second place, and third place, with awards announced during the opening reception. Many of the works will be available for purchase, and the gallery encourages the community to support local artists. Gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no admission fee to view the exhibition.
