Keep Bears Wild Art Contest - Alaska
NCLH's art contest celebrating Southeast Alaska wildlife with $10,000 prize and community voting on Facebook/Instagram.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) is hosting the "Keep Bears Wild" art contest, an initiative designed to raise awareness about responsible coexistence with bears in Alaska. This opportunity invites artists across the United States to submit original artwork celebrating Southeast Alaska's wildlife, natural environment, and community stewardship.
The contest is part of NCLH's Sail & Sustain program and was made possible through a partnership with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation. The initiative aims to promote conservation through creative expression and community engagement.
The winning artwork will receive prominent display opportunities, including a mural in Downtown Juneau on the exterior of a newly constructed bear-proof trash enclosure, and will be featured on bear-resistant cans throughout Juneau's downtown corridor. This provides significant visibility for the selected artwork in an important conservation context.
The winner will receive a $10,000 prize package consisting of $7,000 in direct payment plus a $3,000 donation to a registered charity of their choice. Winners are selected through community voting via Facebook and Instagram, making this a public-facing competition where public support can influence the outcome.
This is an excellent opportunity for artists interested in conservation, environmental art, and community-based public art projects. The contest combines artistic recognition with meaningful conservation impact and substantial financial reward.
