Youth artists grades 1-8 can compete for $500 in awards with poster and recycled art submissions. Entry deadline August 29, 2025.

Keep Columbus Beautiful and Columbus Garden Club are hosting their 2025 Youth Art Show and Contest, featuring the first annual Poster Contest and Recycled Materials Art Show. This exciting opportunity is open to all student artists in grades 1-8, offering $500 in total awards. The contest includes two categories: poster creation and recycled materials art. For the poster contest, youth artists should create 8½ x 11 inch posters featuring Keep Columbus Beautiful messages such as 'Keep Columbus Beautiful,' 'Please Don't Litter,' 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,' 'Keep Texas Beautiful,' or 'Don't be a Litter Bug.' The recycled materials category invites students to create canvas art or sculptures using recyclable materials. All winning and participating artwork will be showcased at the Live Oak Art Center in Historic Downtown Columbus from September 10-19, 2025. The exhibition will be open to the public, providing young artists with valuable exposure and recognition for their environmental awareness and artistic skills. This contest encourages creativity while promoting environmental consciousness and community beautification messages.
