Kinomural OPEN CALL: New Media Art Festival

Submit your audiovisual work for large-format projection at Kinomural, Europe's largest new media art festival in Wrocław, September 2026.

Kinomural, one of Europe's largest new media art festivals, is calling for audiovisual artists to showcase their work in large format during the 2026 edition taking place in Wrocław on September 18-19. Selected projects will be displayed on six walls of tenement houses in the Nadodrze district, averaging 300 meters in length and reaching nearly 30,000 viewers.

This year's theme is "ON REPEAT." The festival transforms urban streets into a dynamic exhibition space for new media art, combining contemporary art with urban architecture. Both newly created works and projects from previous bodies of work are eligible for submission.

The curatorial team seeks diverse artists working with new media, from experimental animation to digital art. The festival formula showcases works across different eras, from 1960s-1970s computer art pioneers to contemporary digital creations. Technical specifications require vertical format with 1200 × 1724 pixel resolution.

All selected works participate in a competition judged by a jury that awards three artists PLN 3,000 each. Contemporary Lynx magazine provides an additional prize, featuring the winner in an interview. The festival offers unprecedented exposure for audiovisual artists, presenting work in a unique urban context that allows art to function on its own terms beyond traditional gallery conventions.
