Laredo Public Libraries Mural Design Submissions

Local artists invited to submit mural designs for Laredo library walls. Selected works receive $500-$700 compensation.

The City of Laredo Public Arts Program is calling for local artists to submit mural designs for library branches throughout Laredo. This is an opportunity to bring creative artwork to public library spaces, following the success of existing murals like Abel "El Picasso" Gonzalez's literary icons mural at the Joe A. Guerra Public Library.

Artists are encouraged to submit designs of any scale and style, from clever concepts and interactive pieces to bold focal points. Designs do not need to cover an entire wall. The program welcomes diverse artistic approaches and creativity.

Selected artists will be compensated based on mural location: $500 for interior murals and $700 for exterior murals. Installation will take place after selection and approval of designs.

This is a wonderful opportunity for Laredo's artistic community to contribute to public spaces and enhance the city's cultural landscape. The program values local talent and seeks to make library spaces more visually engaging and inspiring for community members.
