Little Big Show - Baker City Artist Call
Create small-scale artwork for the 11th annual Little Big Show in Baker City. Boards available January 2, 2026.
The Little Big Show is an annual community art exhibition and fundraiser in Baker City, Oregon, now in its 11th year. Artists of all skill levels are invited to create small-scale artwork on provided pre-cut boards measuring 8 inches square. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to explore different creative approaches while supporting local nonprofits.
Artists can work with any medium and are encouraged to pick up their boards during the First Friday art walk on January 2, 2026, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Churchill School (3451 Broadway St.), or again on February 6 from 5:30-8 p.m. There is a $5 nonrefundable fee per artist. Each artist can pick up one to eight boards and receives an assigned number for tracking purposes.
The show emphasizes quality work, so artists are advised to only pick up the number of boards they can commit to finishing. Artists may also use unfinished boards from previous years with their new artist number. All finished artwork must be delivered by the artist and turned in on Saturday, August 1, 2026, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Churchill School.
All pieces sell for $45, with $35 going directly to the artist and $10 going to the charity of choice at each participating gallery or shop. Work cannot be presold; all pieces are sold on a first-come, first-served basis when the show opens on August 7, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. This structure ensures fair distribution and community support.
The Little Big Show welcomes artists from everywhere, as long as they can personally pick up the boards and deliver completed artwork. It's an opportunity to create work outside your normal artistic approach while contributing to local charitable causes.
