Local Perspective Community Photography Exhibit

Yadkin Arts Council seeks photographers 18+ in NC Piedmont Region for community photography exhibition. One photo per artist.

The Yadkin Arts Council is calling for artists to participate in "Local Perspective," a community photography exhibit showcasing the Piedmont Region of North Carolina. This open exhibition welcomes all photographers aged 18 and older who reside in or near the Piedmont Region of North Carolina.

The exhibit theme encourages photographers to explore diverse aspects of local life and environment. Submissions can include: exploring the area's culture and people through events and portraiture; capturing nature and wildlife; focusing on everyday details like textures, patterns, and reflections; showcasing local and urban elements in rural or city environments; photographing local crafts, agriculture, or professional work; or finding inspiration in local street art and seasonal changes. "Local" can refer to any scenes or spaces throughout North Carolina.

The exhibition will be displayed in the Welborn Gallery at the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center from January 2 through February 27, 2026, with a gallery reception on January 8, 2026 from 5-7pm. Due to limited gallery space, the Yadkin Arts Council reserves the right to close submissions early if needed.

Each artist is limited to one photograph submission to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate. All accepted submissions must be delivered in person to the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center in Yadkinville on either December 29 or December 30, 2025. Alternative delivery arrangements may be possible if advance notice is provided.

The Yadkin Arts Council is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to transforming community lives through the arts by offering opportunities to encounter and create. They believe art is transformational, opening minds, freeing imagination, and helping people see the world from different perspectives.
